Description

Monolith Android is a 3D tetris-like game for the android mobile phone platform. The code is based on the SDK samples of the Android SDK.

The intent of the author was to create a fun to play game, and familiarize with the rich API of the android platform. The game uses openGL ES to render the graphics. As well as the classic tetris-like gameplay, the game provides additional game modes, "Monolith" and "Puzzle" (coming soon!).

The Monolith name derives from the fact that the matrix that the game is played in, looks a bit like a monolith from the film "2001 a Space Odyssey".

New in the version 1.0.3c:
  1. The game now works with m5-rc15 SDK.
  2. The game now features two backdrops. The sun and the moon.
  3. Added sound support. Soundtrack (a song performed by me) and sound effects.
  4. Added a rotating starfield.
  5. Smooth falling of blocks.
  6. Improved explosions when lines are cleared.

Please note that this version was developed using the previous version of the Android SDK, so won't work in the latest version, or the available Android phones.
